I have both railed and nonrailed Beretta 92 variants - 92A1, M9A1, a LTT elite and the Wilson Brigadier and Centurion. IMO the rail is less useful on the compact 92s because it takes what is a relatively large "compact" and gives it the footprint of a full sized pistol when you mount accessories.
