I think it's mostly personally preference but for me, I'd prefer the FPS advantage of the 3.7" barrel and the slightly longer sight radius of the XL slide over the slight amount of recoil reduction offered by the M-Macro's comped slide and 3.1" barrel.The SAS will even take the XMacro slide. The fire control unit is the serialized part so you can make a small, tiny gun into the XMacro or vice versa similar to the P320 platform but the 365 and 320 are not compatible.
