Turned out under the shifter assembly and center console, there are dual ground eyelets. Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt. Turn your Fusion’s engine on. Then, rock the car with your foot off the brake. Press the brake down when you have rocked uphill. You want to “catch” it with the brake at the right time. This will take pressure off of the parking lock. Apply light pressure to the shifter when doing this.(1) Verify removal of ignition key allowed in PARK position only.
