In this video we set up our rolling and back step functionality. We then sync all action animations across our network so all clients can see other character... It looks similar to pressing back and dodge like in sekiro but since elden ring still uses rolls I think it's the backstep itself. In dark souls 2 the backstep was slightly shorter than dodging so having the I frames was used heavily in pvp to line up perfectly times parries.

From what I could tell backstep had some iframes, barehanded moveset had both a powerstanced and dual weapon moveset, crouching didnt have unique attack followups and powerstanced shields and catalysts didn’t have a unique moveset. As for passive hyperarmor the only weapon in the CNT that had it was the lance but some weapons skills did as well.

since backstep has no i-frames is it bad or just situational? many enemies will stay locked onto you if you try to dodge an attack too early therefore using the back step in these situation makes no sense and in other situations i can think of i dont see how a simple roll isn't better or if you want retaliation just counter attack after blocking.
