Sep 4, 2022 · Great rifle and nice to have the same caliber as your sidearm when out and about. It’s compact and makes a great scabbard or truck gun. Reports of high recoil are misleading; several small framed females I know shoot the 454 with no trouble at all. I think they do still make it but you can find used ones occasionally.
It would be too long for any of the pistol length lever guns, but perhaps a Marlin 1895 could be re barreled for it. So probably your best bet would be one in .454 or .480 Ruger.
