Hi to all, just got me a nice WD45 with a D19 diesel repower engine in it. It has been setting for about 20 years in a machinery shed. Put new diesel in it and it started right up. When Allis came out with their 821 trans hydraulic oil they also recommended its use in pretty much everything in older machines as well. So to be technical the most recent recommendation for the transmission is the 821 type oil. I would use it if your tractor sees winter use. Otherwise I also think modern gear lube is fine too.
